Weekly Wrapper – 11/14/2016

Hello all,

We start this Weekly Wrapper with very sad news. Tampa HD Service Technician, Jacob Beaumont (Coby) was killed Friday night in a motorcycle accident. At this time, we have no details as to services for him. Coby has worked on many of our bikes and was a big Philadelphia Flyers fan. As you can imagine, this is a big shock to our Harley family. The Dealership is hosting a memorial for Coby tomorrow at 6pm for those who want to attend. RIP Coby.

For those who missed the picnic, you missed a great time. There was fierce competition in the bike games with several winners, including Paul and Debbie Parks, Lionel and Susie Arce and Larry and Barbara Blakely. The food was great and you could not beat the weather. A special thanks to Activities Director, Jerry Umland and his committee of volunteers who made the entire event a blast. Below is a note from Jerry:
Thanks! I want to thank all of those who were instrumental in making our annual chapter picnic a success. We had a lot of help from our volunteer committee, but while we were setting this up in preparation, an unexpected number of our members pitched in to help and were indeed a huge help. So, a big thank you to all who help make this a fun time event. The food was great, but without our grillers we would have been out of luck; they did a fantastic job in making sure the food was ready and tasty. For those who were unable to attend, we hope you will be able to next year because it’s a great time to mingle and meet your chapter members and have some laughs, or whatever. Congratulations to all of the winners of the bike games who won $20.00 for first place and $15.00 for second place, and believe me they deserved it since those games are not that easy to do. We also had drawings for $25.00 Shell gas gift cards and ten lucky chapter members won a card…yeah for them.
Jerry’s next event for us is the annual Christmas Party to be held Saturday, December 17th at Heritage Harbor. Stay tuned for more information.

We also want to send a shout out to Frank Wattenbarger, who is recovering from back surgery. We hope the recovery goes well and fast to feel the wind in your face again soon!

While we have most of our 2017 board members in place, we are still accepting nominations for Safety Director and Editor. Interested personnel should contact Bill Madison at billmadison69@hotmail.com or 813.416.9557.
