We have a few things going on, beginning with a change of venue for this week’s LOH meeting. We will meet this Thursday at Smokey Bones at 8020 Citrus Park Drive. We will gather at 6:30pm. Please see below for messages from some of our folks and some upcoming calendar events.
A message from our Board of Directors. Have you ever wondered about what Harley Davidson’s HOG is all about? Want to get more involved in our Chapter? Please consider submitting your name to Bill Madison to serve on our board next year. All positions are still open, but we are focusing on the positions of Assistant Director, Editor and Activities Director. We really would like to see folks get involved to bring new views and energy to the group, while benefitting from those who have taken their turns at leadership and serving. One of the coolest experiences is the opportunity to attend Harley Officer Training (HOT). This two-day annual event is a gathering of corporate HD folks with tremendous information to share, as wells as Chapter officers from around the country. This first-class experience is designed to help educate and provide ideas for the best chapter we can be. The opportunity to meet and talk with others with the same passion and hear more from the “mother ship” is amazing – and that is before the closing party and concert! If you wish to participate, please contact Bill Madison at 813.416.9557 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We need to firm up our leadership for next year this month and need bring this to a chapter vote soon.
A message from Larry, Safety Captain and one of our Road Captains. “The chapter will be participating in one of the Tampa Veterans Day Parades this year. We are registered to participate on Fri, Nov 11th. We will meet at the dealership and ride as a group to the staging area. Once we have the staging details we will publish the meeting time and details. While this is a Fri event we are hoping we can get a solid turn out to honor our veterans and represent the chapter. More details to follow but please mark your calendars to participate.”
A message from our Merchandise Manager, Greg, “I want to clarify the process for ordering from Norscot.
1 – Go the Cigar City webpage and click on Buy Merchandise (right side of the page under Other Links)
2 – When you are dropped on the Norscot HOG site, you will need to log in (top of page)
3 – If you haven’t already done business with Norscot, you will need to go under New Customer and register. I recommend using the same logon as your national HOG membership to register, but that’s up to you
4 – Once you have registered, you can go ahead and buy whatever you want. Keep this in mind – Chapter branded merchandise can be subject to order size limits. This is true for apparel and, unfortunately, name tags. So, if you want to order a name tag, you will need to call Norscot directly to place your order. We are trying to work with them to use scaled pricing as they do for chapter rockers and we’ll let you know what happens.
Please let me know if you have any comments about your experience. We want to make sure this process works well for everyone.”
Don’t forget the Florida State HOG Rally is coming up at the end of this month. If you want to stay over Friday and Saturday night, Crusher (Mark Miller) has one remaining room held at the second closest hotel to the Rally site. Please contact Crusher at 262.623.2506 or email@example.com if you are interested. He is also leading a ride over to Lakeland on Friday and a breakfast return ride on Sunday…refer to our calendar for more information.
There is still time to RSVP for our annual picnic! Please refer to the attached flyer and mark your calendars now! The Board will be cooking for the Chapter and we will have games, prizes and a lot of fun. Please send your completed form with payment addressed to Cigar City HOG and mailed to Jerry Umland at 18837 Maisons Drive Lutz, FL 33558. Please arrange to respond by Saturday November 5th so we can be sure to have enough food.
The holiday season is fast approaching and the Ladies of Harley are here to help you with your giftwrapping needs. Starting Black Friday and through Saturday December 17th, we need ladies (gents are also welcome!) to wrap gifts for donations and to host a bake sale. We need folks to sign up to work 10am-2pm each of these days. Please contact Geri at 813.600.8473 or at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your shift. We will soon have an electronic calendar available to view available shifts.
Ride Safe! Denise
